"About the tour....?"
Our tour offers a relaxed & interesting walk from Victoria Park through the suburbs of Collingwood & Abbotsford, where we retell the history of the Collingwood Football Club & its local area; from the early days of the Collingwood Flat - including some Aboriginal history & early European settlement in colonial times, through to the formation of the Club.... & to Jock McHale's Machine Team of the 1920's & 1930's, onto the heroic Woodsmen of the 1950's.... travelling on the 32 year drought of the 1960's - 1980's, hitting the great 1990 era, & onto modern day Magpie prosperity.
---
Our 2 (& a bit) hour walk is a journey through the heartland of Magpie territory as we cover the stories of the foundation of the Club, the history of the great players, & the premierships the 'Woods have won & lost.
---
We will run tours mainly around the weekend hours, in any weather (except snow & above 50degs!), but we can do private tours during the middle of the week, if that's what you prefer - get in touch with us here.
---
We charge $60 per person, 2-for-$100, (or $120 for 3 people, & 4 walkers for $140) which is comparable to most other Melbourne walking tours) & kids up to 15 years old can come for free*!
- if accompanied by a paying adult.
(fee payable to your tour guide, on the day.)
---
We run our tours rain, hail or shine.
